Exam Pattern: Punjab Police Sub Inspector Exam Pattern Comprises of Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test and Interview.
I. Physical Measurement:
a) For male candidates: Minimum Height : 5 feet and 7 inches (minimum)
b) For female candidates : Minimum height : 5 feet and 3 inches
II. Physical Efficiency Test:
A. For Male Candidates:
Only those candidates who fulfill the physical measurements shall be eligible to participate in following Physical Efficiency Test:
(i) 1600 Meter Race to be completed in 7 minutes minimum (Only one chance)
(ii) Long Jump : 3.80 Mts. minimum (Three chances)
(iii) High Jump : 1.15 Mts. minimum (Three chances)
B. For Female Candidates:
Only those candidates who fulfill the physical measurement criterion shall be eligible to participate in following Physical Efficiency Test:
(i) 800 Meter Run to be completed in minimum 4 minutes and 30 seconds (Only one chance)
(ii) Long Jump : 3.00 Mts. minimum (Three chances)
(iii) High Jump : 0.95 Mts. minimum (Three chances)
C. For ex-servicemen: (35 years and above)
(i) 1400 meter race to be completed in 12 minutes (Only one chance)
(ii) Minimum 10 continuous Sit-ups
D. For Ex-Service women (35 years and above):
i. 800 meter Run/Walk to be completed in 8 minutes (only one chance).
Candidates will have to qualify all these Physical Efficiency Tests to be eligible for the written test.
III. Written Test: The applicant who would qualify the physical test, have to appear for written examination, which will be of hundred (100) marks. This examination would be based on topics viz. general awareness on current national and international issues (terrorism/ naxalism in Indian sub-continent). including knowledge about India, and Punjab in particular, general science, information technology and its applications, numerical aptitude, test of reasoning & comprehension etc . It is mandatory to get minimum of 45% marks to qualify this examination by the applicants belonging to SC/ST/BC categories, whereas other applicants have to get minimum of 50% pass marks.
Interview: Candidates will be called for interview on the basis of merit in the written examination.
